Wool Rugs
Wool rugs are often the livelihood of many people. Historically the Persian and Tibetan people relied heavily on herding and obtaining the wool from their animals to produce products like floor coverings and saddle blankets. They would hand make these items for their own use, as well as, sell them for a profit to provide their family with a source of income.
Wool rugs can be woven, braided, knotted among a variety of other methods. This type of floor covering is durable and that is one reason why they are highly desirable. Even though more people choose to purchase a wool mat in areas that are cool because they add warmth, they are also purchased in warmer locations as well, simply due to their aesthetic appearance.
Wool rugs add an element of aesthetic pleasure to a space. Mats are used as a way to add color, pattern, and texture to a space. They can be purchased for their beauty, but also for functionality. Many people choose to place mats in their kitchen, bathroom, and washroom spaces to prevent water damage.
