Silk Rugs

Silk rugs often have a Persian appearance. A Persian as well as Turkish rug is often made with silk fibers making it very soft to the touch. They may not be as durable as other materials; however, many people find it very aesthetically pleasing and opt to purchase them anyways.

Silk rugs are a product that can either be natural or manmade. There are many products available that market they are made from silk, but consumers never know if it is real or fake. This isn’t a big issue if it doesn’t matter to the individual purchasing; however, many people prefer the natural product.

Silk rugs are often imitated and because of this buyers should beware. Make sure that the quality of the product is in line with the price being charged. Real silk mats have a fringe and artificial mats often don’t. One can also test the quality of a silk product by rubbing it, artificial will stay cool and the natural fibers will become warm.
