Braided Rugs

Braided rugs can be made from a variety of different materials. Historically, people have use materials such as: cloth pieces, old rags, and pieces of denim. They were used as a source of income for many families, and they also served a purpose in their daily lives.

Braided rugs often have a country feel to them. Depending on the materials that are used in their construction, they make great mats for traditional country style kitchens. Many homemakers make them by hand and use them as floor runners and bathroom mats to add warmth and color to a space.

Braided rugs in today’s market are often made with wool. They can come in different thicknesses and blends and it is all dependent on the style and look that is desired. Machines are now used to produce braided floor coverings making it much more efficient and less expensive than handmade custom pieces.
